Webly, Inc. ("Webly," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights with respect to that data.
This policy applies to all users of the Webly website (usewebly.com) and the Webly platform, and is intended to comply with applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
Account Information
- Your name and email address (collected at registration)
- Password (stored as a one-way hash — we cannot read it)
Business Brief Data
- Business name, location, and service area
- Services offered, licensing and insurance details
- Business phone number and contact email
- Customer reviews and testimonials you provide
- Brand colors and logo uploads
- Social media URLs
Payment Information
- Billing details (card number, expiry, billing address) — processed and stored by Stripe. Webly does not store full card numbers.
- Subscription status and billing history
Usage Data
- IP address, browser type, and device information
- Pages visited and features used within the Webly platform
- Timestamps of logins and actions
Communications
- Support chat messages sent via the Webly help widget
- Emails you send to hello@usewebly.com
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Generate your AI-powered website using your business brief data
- Host and serve your website to visitors
- Process subscription payments and manage billing
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, receipts, site status alerts)
- Provide customer support
- Improve and develop the Webly platform (aggregate, anonymized analysis only)
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising targeting purposes on third-party platforms.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share your data with third-party providers only as necessary to deliver the Service:
Stripe
Payment processing. Your billing information is transmitted directly to Stripe and governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy. Webly stores only a Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
Anthropic
AI website generation. Your business brief data is sent to Anthropic's API to generate your website content. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by their API terms. We do not send personally identifiable information beyond what is necessary for website generation.
Cloudflare
Website hosting, storage, and content delivery. Your generated website files and uploaded assets are stored and served via Cloudflare infrastructure. Cloudflare may process request metadata (IP addresses, request logs) in accordance with their privacy policy.
Brevo (formerly Sendinblue)
Transactional email delivery. We use Brevo to send account-related emails such as registration confirmations, billing receipts, and service notifications. Your name and email address are shared with Brevo for this purpose.
All third-party providers are required to handle your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws and are prohibited from using it for their own marketing purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription:
- Your account data and website files are retained for 30 days after cancellation
- After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted from our systems
- Payment records may be retained longer where required by law (e.g., tax compliance)
You may request earlier deletion of your data at any time (see Your Rights below).
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection / Restriction: Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
- Opt-out of sale: We do not sell your data, but you may contact us to confirm

California residents may also have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what categories of personal information are collected and the right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
7. Cookies and Tracking
Webly uses session cookies only — strictly necessary cookies that enable you to log in and use the platform. These cookies are deleted when you close your browser or log out.
We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or behavioral analytics cookies. We do not track you across other websites.
8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed password storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. International Transfers
Webly is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the US. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We ensure that any such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice within the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
